Dr. Arthur Isles is Constance Isles' husband & Dr. Maura Isles' adoptive father.
History[]
His first appearance isn't until season 6, but he is mentioned a few times before that. Maura mentions that he was absent for much of her childhood, resulting in her refusing to pick up his phone calls. From the little she mentions of him, she reveals to Jane that he is a liar. She says he earned his Ph.D. in "killing things with puffer fish toxins". (He is not an M.D.) He also wrote a paper stating that the Amazonian Sororo (sp?) tribe was known for "eye for an eye" justice, 20 years earlier. Later, Maura tells Jane that when she was 14, she discovered Arthur being unfaithful with a friend's mother and he asked her to keep the secret from her mother, which she did, but she felt it hurt her relationship with her mother.
